Please note: This issue impacts ALL Facebook application developer partners and is not specific to Customers.ai.
Specifically, existing Facebook messenger chatbots are still working, but marketers looking to build new chatbots cannot connect them to their Facebook pages for the time being.
However, you can still develop and test Facebook Messenger chatbots with Customers.ai – the World’s Best Facebook Messenger marketing platform.
When you build a Facebook Messenger chatbot using Customers.ai, in order to make your chatbot application “live”, you need to connect your chatbot to your Facebook Page, as shown here:
As you can see, this is not currently working due to the Facebook Messenger chatbot embargo.
However, all other aspects of Customers.ai work normally, including building and testing of new Facebook Messenger chatbot applications.

When Will The Facebook Messenger Chatbot Embargo be Lifted?
Off the record, our partner contacts at Facebook believe that the issue will have some form of resolution on or before May 1, 2018.
This makes sense as the official Facebook Developer Conference (F8) is on that day.
(And if there wasn’t any resolution by then, you would expect that there would be a lot of angry Facebook developers at their conference.)
Nice one Larry, thanks for the update. Good to have an actual date, even if it is a guesstimate. 🙂
Thanks for the update. It’s frustrating because so many people depending on Facebook for their income. I don’t know if the embargo was the best way for them to handle this debacle. Here’s to hoping it’s resolved soon so we can all get back to business.
